We work in an area of great beauty and inspiration. It is very large and mainly rural with many mountains and valleys. This means a lot of traveling so we can reach remote places and ensure access to all.
We also work in area of the smallest average income in the UK.
This has a great impact on our sustainability as the cost of delivering activities is higher than other places due the distances to cover, but we also need to remain accessible. It is a challenge and we want to do more, which is why we set up an Apprenticeship Scheme and a Young Leader’s Programme to train more people to work in their community with our support.
North Wales has a distinct regional identity.
Welsh is the first language in most of the area and it is essential that we deliver our activities in Welsh or bilingually.
